Do you know what meat by products are?
It is things like intestines, brains, eyes and such that is left over and can't be used for human consumption
Open a can of pet food and smell it, would you eat this stuff.
If the answer is NO, then check the recipes below
If the answer is yes, then enjoy your snack my friend, don't leave me stand in your way.

The best meal is a low-fat, high protein meal. But dogs, like people, like junk food even though it may not be the best thing. Just like humans like unhealthy junk food. It's up to you to steer them on the right track
Junk food for dogs is: cake, cookies, chips, doughnuts, fries, ice cream, whipped cream, pizza, table scraps (chicken skin and fat from meat) and especially Chocolate.

Chocolate is toxic and can be read about in another section.

If you really want to be nice and give dogs a treat that is good for teeth try Raw meaty beef or lamb knuckle bones. You should only give them fifteen minutes at a time. They will get indigestion if they chew on them to long. Never give Poultry bones like chicken and turkey nor pork bones and of course fish bones.

Puppies less then a year old need extra calcium, iron and protein. It is best to feed them twice a day and limit the amount because some puppies will eat and eat and eat till they bust at the seams. Not a pretty sight.

Feed young puppies two or three times a day at the same time every day and it will be easier to figure out when they will need to relieve themselves. This will help to housebreak them.

If you see them eating grass, it's a sign that they want vegetables. You can give them such things like Broccoli, Carrots, cauliflower, grapes, raisins, and apples to name a few.

Salt is a big NO! NO!
Dogs can't process salt as humans do, so this toxin (that's right, salt is a toxin) builds up in their kidneys til they begin to fail.

You should not give Onions, Potatoes or Chocolate to name a few other things on the list. There is a bigger list on the Poison Page.

Potatoes contain cyanide. Did you know that there is enough cyanide in 50# of potatoes, if eaten at one sittin, to kill a human?

Some dogs are lactose intolerant so and milk gives them diarrea.
If your dog gets the diarrea give them any of the recipes below containing rice.

Do they really need BHA/BHT, Potassium Sorbate, and Meat By Products?
With the recipes on this page you know exactly what is in the food, and more importantly, exactly what you are feeding your friend.

And to help stop pets from gulping down food put a couple large rocks about 4" in diameter in the food dish.
They should be large enough so they can't swallow them.
Eating to fast creates gas pains.
Try this, it works.
